About

Provence, a love story

Ours is a love story—one of a Florentine couple who fell under the spell of Provence, driven by the desire to share the unique emotions this land has given us.

Fifteen years ago, during our first visit, it was love at first sight. Before long, every opportunity became an excuse to return, explore its villages, and bask in its light. But that wasn’t enough. With perseverance and a touch of madness, we made our dream come true: finding a home that met our needs and moving here with our cat, Baldus.

Nestled in the countryside near Arles, our home has now become yours, too. This is how Vintage Provence was born—designed to offer you unique experiences: a warm welcome, thoughtfully curated rooms where every detail reflects our love for this region, and services tailored to your desire for discovery.

Once tourists, now locals, we share our knowledge of Provence in English, French, Italian, and Spanish. Provence won us over—now it’s your turn to explore it.

The long and winding road

Before settling in Provence, Federico followed his adventurous spirit. He traveled extensively, lived in Los Angeles and London, and remained deeply connected to his hometown, Florence, where he ran a classic car rental business for years.

Fulvia, on the other hand, has always been a true Florentine. She spent over twenty years in corporate communications, traveling only for work or vacations.

For both, Provence became an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with nature, and embrace a lifestyle that values time, creativity, and passion. The road was long and winding, to borrow from The Beatles, but today they are here—running their guesthouse with enthusiasm and a spirit of sharing.

Slow living in the provençal countryside

At Vintage Provence, Federico takes the lead in managing guest services and reservations while tending to the property, which requires constant care. Arles, a city renowned for photography, has also given him the chance to further his passion—he has embarked on new photographic projects about the region and held his first exhibitions in France, in Auvergne. His love for music is just as strong—a graduate of the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, he is often seen with a guitar in hand and offers private lessons to guests who want to discover the instrument or refine their skills.

Fulvia, meanwhile, can finally dedicate more time to cooking—homemade tarts, pasta, and focaccia. She jumps with joy whenever guests compliment one of her cakes served at breakfast. She has also discovered the pleasures (and challenges) of gardening. The Mediterranean garden surrounding the property follows a natural cycle that demands care and respect. It’s a world she once knew little about but has embraced with devotion and constant wonder.

And Baldus the cat? Well, he’s by far the slowest of them all. Happy to finally have a little countryside to roam, his greatest pastime is chasing squirrels… though he never quite catches them.
